I’m Maria and I’m a Danish artist living in Zealand, Denmark.

Since I was a kid I’ve enjoyed the repetitive task of tying knots on knots, fascinated with how such a simple act can make beautiful patterns. For me this process is an active form of meditation, and the materials always dictate the final piece.

Macramé and beads came together in my mind in 2017 where I created my first beaded door piece that later was remade and remade again to create the finished piece I call Flow.

In 2023 I shared my art for the first time at the Åbent Atelier exhibition in Næstved. The same year I exhibited four pieces in Næstved Kunstforening, as well as three pieces as part of the Roskilde Åben exhibition in Palæfløjen in Roskilde.

In 2024 I participated for the first time in Kunst i Pinsen - three days of open doors in galleries and art studios around Zealand.
